Is your website secure?
Our payment pages are very secure. When you reach our credit card detail input page, you will see a padlock appear on the bottom right hand of the page. On this payment page, your card details are secured within 128-bit encrypted sessions.

Sensitive information is stored on a heavily encrypted database that is protected by multiple government approved firewalls.

Additional security measures include a security key that is used to produce an MD5 hash value. Hash values are often used as digital signatures as they cannot be reversed to obtain the original information. They allow the receiver to validate that the information received is identical to that sent.

How much should I spend on my new bike?
If you need a bike for regular travel to work, there is a simple formula to give you a basic idea on how much money to invest. Calculate the number of miles you will travel each week in total, and then multiply this by 6 to give you the absolute minimum amount you should spend on your bicycle. For example, If you travel to work 5 days per week by bicycle on a 8 mile round journey.
The calculation would be 5 X 8= 40 and then 40 X 6 = £ 240

We are open Monday to Saturday 8:30am to 6pm. We are also open late night every Thursday until 9pm.

Can I test ride a bicycle at your store?
Unfortunately this is not possible. You can however view, handle, and sit on any bike on display.

Are all your products always in stock?
Unfortunately it would be impossible to guarantee to have every item in stock immediately available at all times, however we keep over 1000 bikes in stock and a warehouse full of accessories at any time, so it is likely that the bike you choose will be available in stock for prompt dispatch. Most of our suppliers respond very quickly to orders, as a result, we can be sure to receive non stock orders within 4 days of order.

Can I come into the shop and buy a bike and ride it away?
Yes, please note, we accept cash and chip+pin debit/credit card payments (Not AMEX) for any items collected from the store.

If I order online, how will I know when my order will arrive?
The average delivery time is 4 days. You will receive an email as son as your order has been dispatched to advise you of the scheduled delivery date.

If I don't like my item, can I return it?
Yes, you can return any unused item to us within 7 days of receipt. Please note we can only offer refunds on unused items which have been returned complete and undamaged, in its original packaging.

Are your products guaranteed?
All products on our website are supplied with the manufacturers own guarantee. The only exceptions to this are tyres, inner tubes, and cables. The warranty period on bicycles varies according to manufacturers.

Please note labour and transportation charges are not included, however discount bicycles offers free labour in respect of any warranty claim.

Can I specify a delivery date?

Do I have to be available to sign for delivery?
If you are expecting delivery of an item which can not be posted through your letter box, it would make good sense to ensure that someone is availalable on the stated date to accept delivery. (It does not have to be you) In the instance of customer absence, the carriers will attempt to deliver to a neighbour. Smaller items will be posted through your letter box.

What should I do if my card details are refused?
Please call us on 02077386105 and quote your order number. We will then be able to place your order manually on the shop till.

How do I know if Discount Bicycles has received my order?
You will receive an email informing you that we have received your order. Each number has a unique 6 digit reference. This should be used to identify you and your order.

Can I add to an existing order?
You can go back and add items to your order until you confirm your payment details and complete the order. Once the order is confirmed, you cannot add items to the same order. If you would like to order additional items, please place a new order.

Can I reserve products and pick them up?
Yes. Simply phone sales on 020 8694 7402 to do this. We can hold items for up to 3 days. A 50% non returnable deposit will secure any item.

Are receipts sent with the order?
Yes. You will also receive your on line receipt.

Can I place an order from overseas?
Yes. Customers from abroad can both register and place an order, as long as the order is for delivery within the European Union.

Can I make a payment with cards registered overseas?
No. We only take payments from debit/ credit cards registered in the UK and Ireland. Please use paypal or bank transfer as payment methods from the rest of Europe.

Do you deliver to overseas addresses?
No. We currently only deliver to address within the European Union.

Do you deliver to BFPO addresses?
Yes, we can now deliver accessories(not complete bicycles) to BFPO addresses.
